Go Big or Go Home—Grazing Tables Are Bigger and Bolder Than Ever!

When designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee celebrated 25 years in fashion, it wasn’t just his couture that dazzled guests. A stunning 72-foot grazing table by Devika Narain stole the spotlight—laden with artisanal cheeses, fresh seasonal produce, and handcrafted delicacies. More than a feast, it was an immersive experience, setting the tone for a trend transforming intimate gatherings, luxury launches, and extravagant weddings.

Today, grazing tables have evolved from simple platters to visually striking culinary statements. From Hrishi Ahirwar’s farm-to-table ethos at Sorriso to Arpita Gupta’s artistic storytelling through Boardstory, Manpreet Dhody’s sculptural spreads at I’m Wholesome, and Megha Jhunjhunwala’s thoughtfully curated setups at Hearth & i, leading experts talk to The Ideal Home & Garden about redefining the way we dine.

The Evolution of Grazing Tables

Hrishi Ahirwar of Sorriso traces his journey from a post-pandemic cloud kitchen to an organic-driven tablescaping brand. “My mother taught me about styling and colour contrast with fruits and flowers,” he shares. His tables now feature hydroponic produce and millet-based bites, catering to a health-conscious clientele.

For Boardstory, Arpita Gupta sees grazing tables as immersive experiences. “Food is storytelling,” she says, emphasising seasonal ingredients that evoke nostalgia and emotions. Thoughtful plating and texture play a key role in crafting tables that are as visually impactful as they are flavorful.

Beyond Cheese and Crackers: Pushing Boundaries

Manpreet Dhody of I’m Wholesome elevates grazing tables with edible cheese paintings, sculptural fruit towers, and interactive elements. “For art or jewellery launches, we align aesthetics with the brand’s ethos,” she explains. One of her most memorable creations? A savoury gingerbread house made entirely of cheese.

Meanwhile, Megha Jhunjhunwala of Hearth & i believes structure is essential. “A grazing table should feel abundant, not chaotic,” she advises. Thoughtful layering, intentional arrangements and a mix of textures create visual harmony. While weddings call for intimate details like heirloom serving ware, corporate events demand efficiency and portion control.

What’s Next? The Future of Grazing Tables

Luxury brands are embracing grazing tables like never before. Sorriso has curated setups for GAIA by Archie, Paul Smith, and Fennel Living, blending fusion flavours with artistic presentation. “Aesthetics and flavours must complement each other,” says Hrishi.

Dietary inclusivity is also shaping the trend. “Gluten-free and dairy-free options are now a must,” notes Manpreet, who integrates allergen-friendly sections into her tables. From sugar-free desserts sweetened with fruit powders to nut-free selections, customization is key.

More Than Food: A Visual Experience

Grazing tables have evolved from indulgent spreads to immersive dining experiences where aesthetics, narrative, and culinary artistry converge. No longer just about excess, they now serve as bold, creative centrepieces—from Sabyasachi’s milestone celebration to intimate home gatherings. Designers are pushing boundaries with towering cheese displays, edible floral arrangements, and hyper-personalized themes. The rise of locally sourced ingredients, interactive stations, and live food preparation has further redefined grazing tables. More than just food presentations, they create moments of communion—carefully crafted, visually striking, and deeply memorable. One thing is certain: grazing tables aren’t just here to stay; they’re getting bigger, bolder, and more immersive.
