44 Floors Up: Where the City Ends and the Sea Begins

Perched on the 44th floor, overlooking Chennai’s endless coastline, this three-bedroom apartment is a seamless blend of coastal serenity and cultural heritage. Designed as a sanctuary in the sky, the home embraces the rhythm of the sea and the warmth of tradition, creating a living space that is as soulful as it is scenic.

From the moment you step inside, the ocean breeze guides you through an open-plan living and dining area, where a lime-plastered accent wall sets the tone for understated elegance. Artisanal décor, brass detailing, and a cane-backed swing infuse the space with a sense of nostalgia, while a terracotta-tiled wall adds depth and warmth. The dining area mirrors the freshness of nature—moonlit nights, sea-kissed air, and blooming florals—through textured elements like cane, a live-edge table, and botanical-patterned wallpaper.

The daughter’s bedroom embraces a breezy, beach-house charm. A cane headboard and a textured teal wall punctuated by asymmetrical accents create a casual yet playful retreat, perfectly complementing the stunning balcony view. Meanwhile, the master bedroom draws inspiration from sunlit shores, layering tropical textures and earthy hues to craft a serene escape.

The study den offers a moment of pause—designed as a tranquil sanctuary, it captures the calming presence of the sea. Soft oak tones and oceanic blues set the backdrop, while a world map on the wall invites the homeowners to pin their travels, transforming the space into a personal chronicle of adventures. A cozy window seat, perfect for reading and reflection, completes this thoughtfully curated corner.
