In Ankleshwar, Gujarat, P&D Associates have crafted The Art House — a 4,500 sq ft residence that transforms everyday living into a curated artistic experience. Led by principal designers Devang Patel and Pratik Siddhpura, the design team set out to blend modern design principles with bold artistic elements, resulting in a home that feels both visually captivating and deeply liveable.
Concept: Art as a Living Language
The residence is a true celebration of art woven into function. Every space balances modernity and tradition, boldness and subtlety, art and utility. By merging sculpture, installations, and curated textures into the design scheme, the house becomes more than a home — it’s a gallery of stories and materials, each thoughtfully placed yet harmoniously connected.
Highlights from The Art House
Living Room: The heart of the home, defined by earthy tones, warm wood, and an industrial-inspired pixel balustrade for the staircase. Abstract art and sculptural pieces punctuate the space, while the red hanging lamp, Crimson Cascade, provides a striking decorative focal point.
Curated Installations: Standout works include Nature’s Abstractions, a collage of photographs and patterns that merges geometry with organic textures, and a leather jacket reimagined as an intricate installation with honeycomb weaves and flowing strips.
Dining & Kitchen: The dining room layers bold stripes, statement art, and traditional furniture, while the kitchen shifts into serenity with mint-green cabinetry, marble counters, and brass accents.
The Staircase as Sculpture: The pixel railing and Turkish carpet framed as wall art transform circulation into cultural storytelling.
Bedrooms: The master suite blends a sleek leather headboard with brass-and-stone detailing, while the parents’ bedroom embraces bold artwork and graphic contrasts for a gallery-like feel.
Outdoor Spaces: White columns, lattice screens, and modern furniture under the patio blend traditional elegance with contemporary comfort.
Materials & Craft
The palette is as layered as the concept: wood, leather, and wool bring warmth, while brass, stone, and ceramics lend refinement. Every artwork and sculptural piece has been custom-designed by P&D Associates, reflecting close collaboration with artisans to ensure seamless integration between design and function.
Why TIHG Loves This Project
It treats art as an integral design language, not just an accessory.
The pixel railing and framed Turkish carpet redefine how architectural elements become art.
Custom sculptural installations blur the line between furniture, artefact, and décor.
The home balances diverse materials and patterns without losing cohesion, creating a layered yet harmonious aesthetic.
The Art House is more than a residence — it’s a testament to how art and design can coexist in every corner, making daily life feel curated, bold, and inspiring.
