A Financier’s Private Office Turned Maximalist Cigar Lounge-Inspired Retreat

Designed by: Alt Space By Ria Hingarh

How do you design a private office that feels like a personal sanctuary—and still commands gravitas? For a renowned financier, the answer lay in English classic interiors with a maximalist twist. Think cigar lounge aesthetics, rich materials, and curated storytelling in every corner.

This bespoke cabin is rooted in English colonial charm, with a palette of deep leather, dark wood, and brass accents. But it’s the personal narrative that brings it alive. At the heart of the space is a custom L-shaped bookshelf—part library, part artifact gallery—designed to house the client’s book collection and global finds.

The plan cleverly divides the office into two zones: a formal working area with a stately desk, and a lounge zone designed for casual meetings and downtime. Here, a plush couch, two elegant armchairs, and a handcrafted bar unit set the tone for indulgent, intelligent leisure. A standout feature? The whimsical 100-character miniature theatre perched above the TV, adding personality and flair.

Every element in the room—from upholstery to millwork—is tailor-made, celebrating craftsmanship and comfort. The result is a space where global sensibilities, professional stature, and interior storytelling come together.

At The Ideal Home & Garden, we believe a well-designed space doesn’t just function—it speaks. This office speaks volumes.
