The refreshing positivity induced vibes of a tropical setting and the rich elegance of a layered setup come together to in a seemingly seamless balance that breaks the monotonous home décor trends.
A luxurious embrace, that is tailor-made to provide spectacular visual and emotive quality to the lived experience in this family home. The defining phrase, “less is not more”, was used by the talented Founder of Studio 101, Harnaam Kaur, to guide the design vision and execution forward, in a way that ensured a certain unique magical quality being granted to each corner of this magnificent house.
As one is welcomed into this abode, an exuberant sense of comfort balanced with elegance is absorbed by the senses. Inspired by the tropics, the family lounge is a green and refreshing paradise. The monochromatic tropical wallpaper is subtle while still leaving a visual impact that is dynamic in nature. But it is the forest green chesterfield that acts as an accent piece that draws everyone’s eyes towards it.
The basement has a seating area that has been strikingly designed as a party den where social gatherings can find the perfect home. The spectacular choice of the pool flanking the space creates an ambience that is both refreshing and revitalizing. The décor elements have been chosen keeping the natural blue colour of the pool right at the very base. The furniture, along with the colour palette, is kept abstract and organic. Dramatic elegance is added using hint of mother of pearl and antique gold finish in tempered spurts.
A home this majestic calls for multiple spaces for socializing and entertaining, and where one dines usually offers the chance for this in abundance. Therefore Harnaam paid special attention to this area, with expert layering being a key feature of the spot. Provided with a ten-seater dining table, this area makes the creative use of adding pattern on patterns, without it being jarring to the senses. But what brings the design of this entire space together is the layered lighting that sheds luminous light that highlights all the elements at their very best.
Packed with layers and richness, this home is the epitome of tasteful opulence that is tempered with a stylized vision and the master suite is the masterful reflection of that. Luxurious interiors are created using dark walnut wooden flooring, which is in keeping with the natural colour palette and material choices that are maintained. Browns and beige colours are strikingly infused with sage green charm that is stylistically made a part of the paneling and the coffee table. The bedside table has a fabric panel behind it that has been customized with hand embroidery with thread and zardozi. And a colourful rug is adding to create that layered magic that is the marker of this exquisite abode.
