What to do when you have a very small space and want to accommodate a lot more in it? Take inspiration from this tiny transformer…
Architect Michael Chen, firm principal of Michael K. Chen Architecture, is known for his innovative design concepts and space-saving ideas for cramped homes. One such example is the Partywall that has all the features of a complete bar setting in just half the space.
The unit has an integrated five foot long pullout element that cantilevers from the storage volume using custom steel hardware. This small table easily accommodates a meal setting for two. When not in use, this can easily be slid back inside to open up the space again.
The main liquor cabinet has two compartments with one shutter in the centre that flips on either side. This shutter has different finishes on both the sides to change the setting from a start white surface to a rich dark finish. The glassware cabinet next to it opens up smoothly to display shelves, a full bar with internal refrigeration and a beer tap.
