The new offices of House of Anita Dongre, which the company recently shifted to in April 2015, lies in vicinity of Rabale in Navi Mumbai. Yet, standing outside the towering brick structure, you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that you are in the middle of a still, serene forest away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
Step inside the cool corridors of this new, contemporary office with signature touches that passionate fashion designer. Just as invigorating as viewing these detailed effects that is recollected, revived and woven intricately into a highly modern design is walking across the various floors that are full of life and activity, with highly skilled artisans creating exquisite ensembles and gorgeous handcraft ed jewelry to large support team.
“My vision for the new office was that of a large space,possibly close to nature and away from the city. We also wanted a space where all personnel would sit together under one roof for easy connectivity. It took morehan three years to locate and build this new space, which was undertaken with the guidance of Ar. Percy Kutar,” shares Anita. Another defining aspect of this office space is the way in which it is designed to use air, water and sunlight in the most efficient and economical manner, creating a work environment that is completely in sync with the natural environment. The new, ergonomically-designed building is a reflection of everything that the company stands for and believes in.
Most remarkably, the design ethos throughout the building is completely in line with her newest venture titled Anita Dongre Grassroot that was launched soon aft er the move to this green space.
The designers focused on creating the next craft -based sustainable line offering handcraft ed traditions from India in contemporary styles through garments and accessories. Just as this label stands as a diary of India’s craft history, the new office is a testament to creating an environment that is an earth-friendly, animal friendly and work friendly space.
