A memorable pastel blue dream house
This beautiful 3,000 sqft duplex apartment located at Matunga, Mumbai designed by architect Ritu Goregaoker of GA Design and photographed by Prashant Bhat, has a stunning view of the sea link and the Arabian Sea. The apartment has three bedrooms on the lower level and one bedroom and the family sit out area on the upper level.
According to Ritu the challenge was to design the layout of the living room in such a way that it felt spacious, had to incorporate a TV wall and a comfortable staircase, which would lead to the floor above.
The owners love the colour pastel blue and that was the driving element of the palette selection. The Armani grey marble floor, the Satuario backdrop with brass inserts, and a dash of concrete texture with a lot of mid-century accents formed the design of the living room.
An interesting brass stand was designed and customised, adding a mid-century aura to the dining area for displaying artifacts. The dining table in white onyx marble top on an antique gold stand adds to the mid century effect.
The master bedroom palette is in beige with a Burberry beige Italian marble flooring. The overall feel of the house is in keeping with the magical space that was yearned for by the owners. Truly a beauty!
